You’re never too old to move your body.
That’s what Irvine and Rosie, from Co Down, Northern Ireland, have proved to us.
The couple, who are Body Coach fans, emailed in to let us know that they do Joe’s exercises at home – thanking Joe for sharing the workouts.
“At 94 and 88 years old we do your exercises regularly,” wrote Rosie. “They are great and we just want to thank you SO much!”
We wanted to find out a bit more about their routine, so we had a chat with Rosie about their fitness routine.
“We usually set up the iPad and go through Joe’s exercises on YouTube three or four times a week (but only one set!),” says Rosie.
“It was during Covid that we discovered these great ideas for keeping fit and we have rated them highly ever since.”
The couple enjoy doing the workouts in the late afternoon or evening, says Rosie, and really feel the benefits.
“I notice the blood circulation is buzzing afterwards,” says Rosie. “Irvine usually checks his heart rate and oxygen on his little monitor and is always impressed with the good result!
“We think that we need to keep moving at the grand old age of Irvine’s 94 years and my coming up to 88 years in August. We also have 4 lovely daughters (and 5 grandchildren) with whom we have fun and who spoil us completely!”
The couple say they make a point of walking for 10 or 20 minutes each day – “every day I make a big salad for lunch and I call it our repair kit!” – and they also prioritise sleeping well and spending time with the family.
Now if that isn’t enough to get you moving, we’re not sure what is!
